My passion for the visual arts began in elementary school when I participated in Saturday classes at the Minneapolis Art Institute. My formal training began at Macalester College and finished at the University of Minnesota, earning BS and MA degrees in Art Education.

Later I studied in Florence, Italy where I earned a Masters degree in Painting. A sabbatical year was spent at Rhode Island School for Design in the area of Surface Design.

As an art educator, my classroom experiences range from Grades K-12 to the university level. I’ve taught in public and private schools in Minneapolis, Long Island, Rhode Island and at the International School in Düsseldorf, Germany. For ten years I was the Art Specialist in the Medford (Oregon) School District.

I have also been a volunteer and advocate for the arts, serving and holding offices on committees and boards at various art museums and organizations in Southern Oregon and in the Greater Portland area. I have also served on the boards of the Asian Arts Council of the Portland Art Museum, the Arts Action Alliance in Clackamas County, the Lake Oswego Foundation for the Arts (LOFA) and Print Arts Northwest.

My work can be found at the Portland Art Museum’s Rental Sales Gallery and Print Arts Northwest.
